Sodium bicarbonate injection has an adjunctive role in the treatment of gout, sodium bicarbonate injection can be used to alkalinize the urine to promote the dissolution of uric acid and excreted in the urine, to prevent the formation of uric acid stones. Adverse reactions during medication include cardiac arrhythmias, muscle spasms, pain, unusual tiredness and weakness, edema, psychiatric symptoms, muscle pain or twitching, slowed breathing, bad taste in the mouth, unusual tiredness and weakness, urinary frequency, urinary urgency, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting. Note that blood electrolytes, urine pH, blood pressure and cardiac function should be closely monitored during alkali supplementation. Oliguria or anuria, cirrhosis, congestive heart failure, renal insufficiency, hypertensive syndrome of pregnancy; use with caution in essential hypertension. Contraindicated in metabolic or respiratory alkalosis, massive chlorine loss due to vomiting or continuous negative gastrointestinal suction, hypocalcemia, gastric lavage in case of poisoning by swallowing strong acids, as the product reacts with strong acids to produce large amounts of carbon dioxide, leading to acute gastric dilatation or even gastric rupture.
