Chronic atrophic gastritis is categorized into three degrees according to the degree of atrophy, i.e. mild, moderate and severe. Whether chronic atrophic gastritis is mildly atrophic should be judged based on the results of pathological biopsy. Mild atrophy is characterized by localized atrophy of the superficial glands in the gastric antrum, while the glands in the greater curvature and lesser curvature are normal; moderate atrophy of the glands in the greater curvature and lesser curvature is further reduced on the basis of mild atrophy; severe atrophy is characterized by a few original glands remaining in the gastric antrum, and complete atrophy of the original glands in the greater curvature and lesser curvature. If you suffer from chronic atrophic gastritis, it is recommended that you go to a regular hospital as soon as possible to receive standardized treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
