Sometimes I notice edema in my hands and feet.



Sometimes edema of the hands and feet is found, which may be related to diseases such as kidney disease, heart disease, liver lesions or hypothyroidism.

1. Kidney disease: such as glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, etc., due to the patients have proteinuria and hypoalbuminemia, resulting in a decrease in plasma colloid osmotic pressure and an increase in the formation of interstitial fluids, which can cause the patients’ limbs to be edematous.

2. Cardiac diseases: If cardiac insufficiency or heart failure, stasis of blood in the body circulation, edema may appear in the low-hanging parts of the body or the whole body.

3. Liver disease: In cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma, the liver function decreases and the level of synthesized albumin decreases, and the patient may have edema.

4. Hypothyroidism: Hypothyroidism, low hormone level and low metabolism of the body may cause severe mucous edema.

If there is edema of the hands and feet, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, improve the urine routine or kidney function and other related examinations, according to the cause of the disease to carry on the cause of the symptomatic treatment.
