How to combine treatment for breast cancer

Currently, surgical resection remains the main treatment for breast cancer. However, postoperative complications, recurrence or metastasis are the main reasons that threaten the patient’s survival. Since breast cancer is a systemic disease, a combination of local and systemic treatment must be taken for both primary tumor and bloodstream metastasis. This patient is hormone-dependent cerbB-2 positive (++++), with a relatively large lump and multiple metastases in lymph nodes, which is a high risk factor for recurrence and metastasis. Therefore, radiotherapy is necessary after surgery, and if economic conditions allow, chemotherapy can be accompanied by Herceptin – anti-HER2 (c-erbB-2) monoclonal antibody biotargeted therapy, and endocrine therapy should be used sequentially for 5 years after the end of chemotherapy. Chinese medicine treatment is based on evidence-based treatment, combining the support of positive energy with the elimination of evil. Positive energy, mainly refers to the body’s ability to adapt to the external environment, resistance to evil, and recovery ability. According to the classic Chinese medical text “Nei Jing Su Wen”, “When the righteousness exists within, the evil cannot dry up” and “When the evil comes together, its energy will be weak”. Meaning that the presence of a strong positive qi in the body, evil will not be easy to invade; if resistance, any disease can TongP捌郧址肝颐堑nakip, must be due to the weakness of positive qi. When the body is deficient in righteousness, the pathogenic factors are able to function and lead to the occurrence of breast cancer and enable the tumor to infiltrate, spread and metastasize, so supporting righteousness and eliminating evil is one of the fundamental methods to treat breast cancer. While Western medicine is the longest in removing the evil, Chinese medicine is the longest in supporting the righteous and regulating the internal environment of the body, adopting the principle of combining disease identification with evidence identification and localization with the whole. At the same time of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the patient can take the Chinese herbal medicine to support the righteousness, such as benefitting the qi and nourishing the yin, strengthening the spleen and replenishing the blood, to reduce the toxic side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy and promote the body’s recovery. After the completion of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, we can take Chinese herbal medicine for a long time to consolidate the treatment, which can extend the patient’s life more effectively, although it cannot be completely cured. Clinical and experimental studies have initially confirmed that long-term use of traditional Chinese medicine treatment has an important role and unique advantages in improving patients’ physical strength, mobilizing the body’s resistance to disease, reducing the toxic effect of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, improving the quality of life, controlling tumor recurrence and metastasis, and prolonging survival.
