A high-density renal cyst is usually defined as a high-density shadow that manifests on imaging, usually due to recurrent infections within the cyst and the formation of a high-protein content of its contents after repeated tissue necrosis, which in turn becomes a high-density renal cyst. High-density shadows also appear when the renal peritoneal wall is calcified, usually with significant separation.
High-density renal cysts may have clinical manifestations such as low back pain, low-grade fever, hematuria and proteinuria, but they lack typical features, and ultrasound and CT examinations need to be emphasized in order to improve the correct diagnostic rate.
Generally, in the case of renal high-density cysts, the situation is more serious and surgery is needed to remove the cyst in time.
The appearance of renal high-density cysts, it is recommended to timely hospital medical treatment, under the guidance of physicians and active treatment.
