OSAHS is the abbreviation of obstructive sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome, which is a combination of apnea and hypoventilation syndrome caused by collapsed obstruction of the upper airway during sleep, accompanied by snoring, sleep structure disorders, and frequent drops in blood oxygen saturation. Sleep apnea is defined as a pause in breathing greater than or equal to 10 seconds during sleep, and hypoventilation is defined as a decrease in respiratory airflow greater than or equal to 30% from the basal value during sleep, accompanied by a significant decrease in blood oxygen saturation. If apnea occurs during sleep with a decrease in oxygen saturation, the degree of decrease in blood pressure saturation can be further clarified by measuring polysomnography. If the degree of decrease in oxygen saturation is more pronounced, surgical treatment can be performed to correct anatomical abnormalities in the pharynx, or a non-invasive ventilator can be worn during sleep to improve the degree of hypoxia during sleep.
