What’s with the pushup wrist pain?

The common causes of wrist pain in push-ups are muscle injury, stenosing tenosynovitis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
1. Muscle injury: when push-ups, the weight of the whole body needs to be shifted to the wrist, and the localized pressure on the wrist is too great, causing wrist pain.
2. Stenosing tenosynovitis: When push-ups are performed, the wrist is overloaded, and if stenosing tenosynovitis exists, it will aggravate the extrusion and cause obvious pain.
3. Carpal tunnel syndrome: when push-ups, exogenous pressure is transmitted to the carpal tunnel through the transverse carpal ligament, which can easily cause compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel when compressed, causing wrist pain.
Push-up wrist pain may also have other reasons, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, under the guidance of the doctor for standardized treatment.
