Why does fetal bowel widening disappear in a few days?

The widening of the fetal bowel which disappears after a few days may be due to a transient dilatation of the bowel caused by poor expulsion of meconium from the fetus.
After the widening of the fetal bowel, it will continue to peristalsis. With the peristalsis of the bowel, the meconium will be able to be discharged to the distal bowel normally, and thus the transient dilatation will disappear. Therefore, the condition of the fetal bowel may vary at different times or weeks of pregnancy.
Fetal bowel widening is a common presentation on abdominal ultrasound and is due to accumulation of meconium in the fetal bowel. However, if this widening persists, it is important to be alert to whether the fetus is suffering from intestinal obstruction.
Pregnant women are advised to go to the hospital for timely examination if they find wide fetal intestinal tubes during the ultrasound examination, and determine whether it is a normal condition under the guidance of the doctor, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
