Thyroid peroxidase antibody 88

The term thyroid peroxidase antibody is inaccurate; the correct name is anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody, and the value of 88 IU/ml is on the high side, and may be associated with diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and primary hypothyroidism. Thyroid peroxidase is related to the synthesis of thyroxine and is associated with the occurrence and development of autoimmune thyroid diseases. Clinically, the normal range of anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody is usually less than 60 IU/ml, however, the value may vary slightly in different regions, hospitals and instruments. At present, the anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody of 88IU/ml is on the high side. It is recommended that the patient go to the endocrinology department in time for further examination of thyroid function, CT and other laboratory tests in order to make a clear diagnosis.
