Tourette’s syndrome, also known as Tourette’s syndrome, is a neurodevelopmental disorder of childhood. Clinically, it is characterized by persistent motor and vocal tics, which can be sudden, rapid, repetitive, and irregular mechanical limb movements and vocalizations, including some common motor behaviors such as blinking and throat clearing. The diagnosis of the disease is made primarily through an interview between the physician and the patient, based on the patient’s presentation and the gradual discovery of the patient’s behavior to confirm the diagnosis of the disease. It is currently believed that a combination of genetic and environmental factors contribute to the development of the disease. However, the exact cause of the disease remains unknown. As for the treatment of this disease, it is mainly based on psychological counseling and traditional Chinese medicine, and some patients can be intervened by psychological counseling to reduce the frequency and intensity of seizures, but the efficacy is not good. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment is mainly based on drugs that wake up the brain and clear away heat and toxins, but the efficacy still needs to be further explored.
