Effects of Descotex Pivoxyl Bromide Tablets

Descotex Pivivoxyl Bromide Tablets are antispasmodic agents that act in the gastrointestinal tract; they are calcium antagonists that work by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into the smooth muscle cells of the intestinal tract. Pivoxyl bromide has no anticholinergic effects and no side effects on the cardiovascular system. It is used clinically for symptomatic treatment of intestinal dysfunction, symptomatic treatment of pain associated with biliary dysfunction, and barium enema preparation. Its specific usage and dosage is: adults 3-4 tablets per day, if necessary can be increased to 6 tablets per day; for barium enema preparation, the drug should be started 3 days before the examination, the dose is 4 tablets per day.
