Patients with conjunctivitis should not wear contact lenses under normal circumstances. If they continue to wear contact lenses after they have conjunctivitis, it can lead to keratitis, which can cause eye pain and blurred vision. Contact lenses are in direct contact with the conjunctiva and cornea. If patients wear contact lenses when they have conjunctival inflammation, the condition will be further aggravated, the inflammation will involve the cornea, the foreign body sensation will be more intense, photophobia and tearing will occur, and they will have trouble seeing clearly. Therefore, patients with conjunctivitis should stop wearing contact lenses immediately and use effective and sensitive eye drops to treat the condition topically, and wear contact lenses only after the conjunctivitis has healed.
