Liver Yu is located on the back, 1.5 inches below the spinous process of the ninth thoracic vertebra.
It comes from “Ling Shu – Back Acupuncture Point” and belongs to the foot solar bladder meridian. It is the back acupoint of the liver.
It has the effect of dispersing liver qi and relieving bile and depression. It is used for treating jaundice, dystocia (pain in the area of coercion and ribs), stomach pain, vomiting of blood, epistaxis, vertigo, night blindness, eye pain, glaucoma, epilepsy, epilepsy, spinal pain; as well as acute and chronic hepatitis, cholecystitis, neurasthenia, intercostal neuralgia, etc. It can be used as a massage and moxibustion point for treating liver pain.
