What to do if a woman has an ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is a common emergency abdominal condition in obstetrics and gynecology and is one of the main causes of maternal mortality, and it is important to seek timely medical attention when you have ectopic pregnancy. Depending on the severity of the patient’s condition, her age and whether she has fertility requirements, ectopic pregnancy can be treated in the following three ways: i. Observation and follow-up. A small number of patients with ectopic pregnancy may miscarry or be absorbed, and the symptoms are mild and do not require medication or surgery to achieve self-healing. II. Drug treatment. It is mainly applied to young patients with early tubal pregnancy and the requirement of fertility preservation. The following conditions should be met for drug treatment: 1. no contraindications to drug treatment; 2. tubal pregnancy without rupture or miscarriage; 3. gestational sac diameter ≤ 4 cm; 4. blood HCG ≤ 2000 IU/L; 5. no obvious internal bleeding. III. Surgical treatment.
