Causes of Age Spots

The formation of age spots is mainly related to natural aging, sunlight damage and genetic factors. Age spots are dark brown patches with clear boundaries on the face, back of hands and other exposed areas of the elderly, usually slightly protruding from the skin surface, which belong to the degenerative skin changes of the elderly. There are individual differences in the age and specific conditions of age spots. The reasons for its formation are complicated, mainly related to natural aging, sunlight damage and genetic factors. For example, age-related freckle-like nevus occurs with natural aging; age-related white spots are caused by sunlight damage; and seborrheic keratosis occurs due to genetic factors. Normally, the appearance of age spots can be prevented and improved by paying attention to sun protection. If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to go to a regular medical institution in time.
