A woman’s safe period is usually 7 days before and 8 days after her menstrual period. In normal cases with regular menstrual cycles, ovulation, also known as the danger period, mostly occurs about 14 days before the next menstrual period. The safe period for women is usually the date when pregnancy is not likely to occur after intercourse, i.e. the time other than ovulation and menstruation. Women only have the opportunity to ovulate once a month, and the survival time of the egg is within 72 hours after ovulation, so the risk period is usually 4-5 days before and after ovulation, which makes it easier to get pregnant. In addition, women should also note that coitus is prohibited during menstruation to avoid retrograde bacterial infections such as pelvic inflammatory disease and vaginitis.
