Can metastatic colon cancer from stomach cancer still be operated on?

Some people with gastric cancer metastatic colon cancer have the chance to have surgery, but it still depends on the condition and metastatic site.

Most of gastric cancer metastatic colon is in advanced stage, most patients are treated with local radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and other programs, and some of them can be surgically resected, but it depends on metastasis, patient’s physical condition and so on to determine the specifics.

If the metastasis is only in a single site, and the tumor volume is small enough to meet the surgical index, then surgical resection will be carried out, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy; however, if the metastasis is in multiple sites, the tumor volume is large, and the patient’s body is weak, surgical resection is not recommended, and it is mainly a conservative treatment to prolong the life span.

However, patients with multiple metastases and large tumors are generally not recommended to undergo surgical resection, and conservative treatment is mainly recommended to prolong their life.
