There may be a relationship between multiple nodules in the lungs and tuberculosis, but multiple nodules in the lungs may also be caused by extrapulmonary tumors with intrapulmonary metastases and pulmonary nodular disease. Mycobacterium tuberculosis multiplies and spreads in the lungs to form extensive foci, which may appear as multiple nodules in the lungs on examination. Patients may have cough, sputum, fatigue, low-grade fever, night sweats (sweating abnormally after going to sleep, but sweating stops after waking up), weight loss, etc. Multiple nodules in the lungs caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis may get better after treatment with anti-tuberculosis drugs, such as isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, and so on. However, multiple nodules in the lungs may also be caused by Aspergillus infection, Staphylococcus aureus infection, intrapulmonary metastasis of extrapulmonary tumors, extensive intrapulmonary dissemination of intrapulmonary tumors, and pulmonary nodular disease. Therefore, patients with multiple nodules in the lungs should go to the hospital in time, improve the examination, clarify the cause of the disease and then timely treatment to avoid further aggravation of the condition.
