What is the percentage of monocytes

Monocyte percentage, refers to the proportion of monocytes in the total number of leukocytes, is calculated by dividing the number of monocytes by the total number of leukocytes to get the value, converted to a percentage. Monocytes are a type of leukocyte, which is a type of blood cell. Leukocytes in the blood include five types of cells: neutrophils, lymphocytes, eosinophils, basophils, and monocytes. A blood draw for routine blood tests can check the number of monocytes, the total number of white blood cells, and the percentage of monocytes. A normal person’s monocyte count is (0.12-0.8) x 10^9/L and the monocyte percentage is 3%-8%. In certain infections and certain hematologic disorders, an increase in the monocyte count and percentage can occur; a decrease in the monocyte count and percentage is usually not clinically significant.
