What’s wrong with bleeding during intercourse?

Bleeding after intercourse is mainly considered for three reasons: first, cervical lesions, such as cervical inflammation, cervical polyps, cervical fibroids or cervical cancer. The most typical clinical manifestation of cervical cancer in early stage is contact bleeding. When bleeding occurs after coitus, patients must do cervical cancer screening to exclude cervical cancer lesions, and at the same time, they need to do gynecological examination to observe whether there is any organic or inflammatory lesions in the cervix of patients. Secondly, we should consider the bleeding caused by vagina, such as inflammation of vagina, local tumor lesion of vagina, etc. We need to do gynecological examination to observe the local lesion of vagina, and choose colposcopy or biopsy according to the specific situation. Thirdly, we should consider the bleeding caused by other lesions, such as endometrial polyps, submucosal fibroids, adenomyosis or pelvic inflammatory diseases and so on.
