The factors that determine whether or not a labor goes well include, among others, the force of labor, the birth canal, the fetus, and psychosocial factors. Although labor is a physiological phenomenon, the process of delivery is affected by a variety of factors. 1. Labor force is the force that forces the fetus and its appendages out of the uterine cavity, mainly uterine contraction force, but also includes abdominal wall muscle and diaphragm contraction force, and anus muscle contraction force. 2. The birth canal, the birth canal is the channel through which the fetus is delivered from the mother’s body, including the bone birth canal and the soft birth canal. The bony birth canal refers to the true pelvis, which is an important part of the birth canal, and its shape and size are closely related to labor. The soft birth canal is composed of the lower part of the uterus, the cervix, the vagina and the soft tissues of the pelvic floor. 3. Fetus, the size of the fetus, fetal position and the presence or absence of malformations are important factors in determining the ease of delivery. For example, if there is a huge baby, breech position, etc., it is not favorable for delivery. 4. Psychosocial factors, labor will cause psychological impact on the mother, some of the mother’s psychosocial factors may cause changes in the body, thus affecting the force of delivery, which is also an important factor in determining the delivery. It is recommended that pregnant women adjust their mindset during pregnancy, maintain a happy mood, and establish confidence in the ability to have a smooth labor.
