The main adverse effects of contraceptive drugs include early pregnancy-like reactions, irregular vaginal bleeding or menstrual disorders, amenorrhea, weight gain and even obesity in women. Some women may develop brown pigmentation on the face, and also increase the occurrence of cardiovascular accidents, so women with high blood pressure and heart disease should avoid taking the pill. Contraindications to oral contraceptives include serious cardiovascular disease, thrombotic disease, acute and chronic hepatitis or nephritis, malignant tumors, precancerous lesions, diabetes, hyperthyroidism and other endocrine diseases, and compound oral contraceptives should not be used during lactation because estrogen can inhibit the secretion of milk. Psychiatric patients avoid taking it.
