Yawning and frequent tearing is not a symptom of dry eye, usually a common physiological phenomenon, yawning too much sometimes also suggests pathological disorders.
When a person yawns, the lacrimal glands are squeezed, so that excessive tear fluid cannot be discharged through the tear ducts, thus flowing out of the eyelids, resulting in the phenomenon of tearing.
Under normal circumstances, when a person is awake, the lacrimal glands continue to produce tears, which moisturize the eyeballs and enter the lacrimal sacs, and then flow into the nasal cavity through the nasolacrimal duct. And yawning when the cheeks, tongue and throat muscle tension contraction, when the pressure of the oral cavity and the nasal cavity increases, blocking the nasolacrimal duct drainage of tears, tear accumulation will be too much tearful flow to the face.
Dry eye syndrome will appear dry eyes, itchy, photophobia, reflex tearing and other symptoms, usually not with yawning at the same time. Sometimes some cause brain hypoxia, ischemic disease will make yawning frequently, such as hyperlipidemia, heart failure, cervical spondylosis, etc., need to be vigilant.
Yawning often tears in most cases do not need to be nervous, if the existence of their own underlying diseases, the emergence of frequent yawning, need to consult a doctor in a timely manner, to clarify the cause of the disease after targeted treatment.
