Nodule enlargement after thyroid ablation surgery may be caused by bleeding at the thyroid surgery site to form hematoma, or it may be caused by incomplete recurrence of the surgery. Different causes are treated in different ways, and patients are advised to go to the hospital for review and treatment in time. 1. Hematoma formed by bleeding from the thyroid gland: The thyroid gland itself has a rich blood supply and is surrounded by abundant blood vessels, so the blood vessels may be damaged during the thyroid ablation surgery, resulting in bleeding. If the amount of bleeding is small, waiting for self-absorption can be enough without special treatment, if the amount of bleeding is large, surgical treatment is needed. 2. Incomplete surgery recurrence: if thyroid cancer recurs after ablation surgery, we can consider doing most or all of the thyroidectomy according to the condition, and if necessary, carry out cervical lymph node dissection surgery and iodine-131 radiation therapy to eradicate the residual lesions of thyroid cancer that may exist. It is suggested that after thyroid ablation surgery, patients should adjust their mindset, develop regular diet, work and rest habits, and if any abnormality is found, consult the doctor in time to do relevant examinations to clarify the cause of the disease and provide symptomatic treatment.
