Physiological phenomena and medical manifestations can cause a foreign body sensation in the throat after vomiting. During the process of nausea and vomiting, some of the food that is not fully chewed is retained in the throat and esophagus, causing a physiological obstruction in the throat. Esophageal diseases are the common causes of such adverse reactions, such as reflux esophagitis, esophageal polyps, esophageal cancer, etc. Because of pathological changes in the esophagus, affected by mucosal congestion or hyperplastic tissue, it can cause narrowing of the esophagus, and some of the refluxed material cannot be discharged smoothly after vomiting, which eventually leads to the obvious symptom of foreign body sensation in the throat. However, the possibility of other systemic diseases such as bronchitis, chronic laryngitis, or throat cancer cannot be ruled out. If the symptoms persist or worsen, it is necessary to go to the hospital as soon as possible to avoid delaying the treatment of the disease.
