Lung adenocarcinoma occurs more often in women than in men, independent of smoking history. Since lung adenocarcinoma often occurs above the smaller bronchioles, about 65% of lung adenocarcinomas are peripheral lung cancers. Tumors are usually located below the pleura, with unclear borders with the surrounding normal lung tissues. Generally the tumor grows slowly, but sometimes hematogenous metastasis occurs early, while lymphatic metastasis is relatively late.
Imaging examinations include chest frontal and lateral views, CT, PET, MRI, ultrasound, bone scan; and pathologic examinations include sputum cytology, bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound-guided needle aspiration biopsy, mediastinoscopy, pleural fluid examination, thoracoscopy, and so on.
Lung adenocarcinoma treatment methods often include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy.
Lung adenocarcinoma is a type of lung cancer. If you are not feeling well, it is better to go to the doctor as soon as possible and do some necessary tests.
