Neuron-specific enolase indicator is a little high, if ≤17ng/mL can be seen in normal people, need regular review; if >17ng/mL need to be vigilant for small cell lung cancer, neuroblastoma and other malignant diseases.
The normal reference value of neuron-specific enolase is 5~15ng/mL, but the index of some normal people can also reach 15.7~17.0ng/mL.
Therefore, when the index is a little higher, but not more than 17.0ng/mL, it is recommended to review regularly; when the index is elevated more than 17ng/mL, it is necessary to be vigilant against malignant tumor diseases such as small cell lung cancer, neuroblastoma, melanoma, medullary thyroid carcinoma, pheochromocytoma, pancreatic endocrine tumors, and so on.
If the neuron-specific enolase indicator is a little bit high, you can have a regular review; if it is elevated more, you need to consult a doctor in time for further investigation and treatment to avoid delaying your condition.
