Lamotrigine tablets do not treat anxiety disorders; they are used to treat epilepsy. Its dosage is a therapeutic initial dose of 25mg once daily for two weeks, followed by 50mg once daily for two weeks; thereafter, the dose is increased every 1 to 2 weeks, with a maximum increase of 50 to 100mg, until optimal efficacy is achieved. The maintenance dose for optimal efficacy is 100 to 200 mg daily, administered once daily or in two divided doses.
The drug is a closed-voltage application-compliant sodium high-channel blocker, which produces an application- and voltage-compliant blockade of sustained recurrent discharges, while inhibiting pathologic glutamate release, glutamate-induced bursts of action potentials. That is why the drug is commonly used clinically in the treatment of epilepsy.
After the use of the drug there are adverse reactions such as headache, drowsiness, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, fatigue.
It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to any of the components of the product.
Do not drive machines, vehicles, ships, engage in aerial work, mechanical work and operation of precision instruments during the period of taking the drug; patients with severe hepatic impairment should be cautious.
