There is no so-called specific drug for adenomyosis, and the appropriate drug or surgical treatment should be chosen according to the patient’s symptoms, age and whether he/she has reproductive requirements. Drugs for adenomyosis can only relieve symptoms. For patients with mild symptoms, fertility requirements and close to menopause, Danazol, progesterone and levonorgestrel intrauterine extended-release system can be used to alleviate the symptoms, but attention should be paid to the side effects of the drugs. Compared with Danazol, progesterone has better efficacy and similar effects, but with fewer side effects, less impact on liver function, and more convenient medication. Surgery to remove the uterus completely is an option if the adenomyosis patient is older and has no reproductive needs. For women with reproductive needs, the affected area is usually surgically removed and pregnancy is allowed to occur after the condition has improved. Adenomyosis should be treated with medication or surgery under a doctor’s supervision, and unauthorized use of medication should be avoided to avoid delaying the condition.
