What’s wrong with a drop in HCG level?

HCG is human chorionic gonadotropin, which is an important indicator of embryonic health during pregnancy, and the decrease of HCG value may be caused by the following situations: 1.a rapid decrease of HCG value after miscarriage and delivery, which is normal; 2.a gradual decrease of blood HCG value after 8-10 weeks of pregnancy, until about 20 weeks of pregnancy, which can maintain a relatively stable level until delivery, and the decrease is generally within 10%. If there are no other uncomfortable symptoms and the obstetric examination is normal, it is normal; 3. The decrease of blood HCG value before 8 weeks of early pregnancy may be caused by insufficient secretion of trophoblast cells, suggesting the possibility of preterm miscarriage, embryonic abortion or fetal death. Some pregnant women may also experience a gradual decrease in early pregnancy reaction and disappearance of pregnancy reaction. Some of them may also experience symptoms of preterm abortion, such as vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain, the amount of bleeding and the degree of abdominal pain vary from person to person. Ultrasound examination should be performed to check whether the size of the uterus and the fetal sac and germ are normal and whether the fetal heart is present, and depending on the results of the examination, treatment for fetal preservation or termination of pregnancy can be chosen.
