Recurrent seborrheic dermatitis around the nose can be treated with topical ointments, such as 5%-10% sulfur ointment, which can control the local inflammatory reaction. Alternatively, topical tacrolimus ointment can be applied topically to provide an anti-inflammatory and therapeutic effect on seborrheic dermatitis. If the inflammation is more pronounced, a combination of medications, such as topical ketoconazole cream or topical trimethoprim cream, can be used for treatment. It is recommended to take oral anti-allergy medications in combination to effectively control seborrheic dermatitis around the nose, and to avoid smoking, alcohol and spicy foods in the diet.
