Shang Ju Xu, located on the lateral side of the calf, 6 inches below the calf’s nose, on the line between calf’s nose and Xie Xi. It is used to treat intestinal tinnitus, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, intestinal carbuncle (carbuncle occurring in the intestines and bowels, manifested by fever, pain in the right side of the abdomen, and palpable lump), and lower limb impotence and paralysis (weakness, numbness and pain in the lower limbs). Branchial groove is located in the posterior region of the forearm, 3 inches above the transverse stripe on the dorsal distal side of the wrist, the midpoint between the ulna and radius interspace. It is used for treating deafness, tinnitus, violent mute (sudden loss of voice), coercive and rib pain, constipation, and scrofula (mainly refers to tuberculosis of the lymph nodes in the neck). Foot Sanli, located on the lateral side of the lower leg, 3 inches below the calf’s nose, 1 transverse finger outside the anterior ridge of the tibia, on the line between the calf’s nose and Xiexi. It is used for treating stomach pain, vomiting, abdominal distension, diarrhea, constipation, and breast carbuncle (a purulent disease that eventually develops when the breasts are red, swollen, and painful and the milk is not discharged properly). If defecation cannot be helped by pressing the above acupoints, prompt medical treatment is recommended.
