In adults, the ascending aortic internal diameter is less than 30 mm, and when the ascending aortic internal diameter is >35 mm, it indicates ascending aortic widening. In the clinical diagnosis, the ascending aortic internal diameter >35mm and <50mm is considered to be caused by long-term atherosclerosis, hypertension and other factors, and the main thing is to actively control blood pressure in a reasonable range and give lipid-regulating medication according to the condition to prevent and treat atherosclerosis. When the patient's examination indicates that the internal diameter of the ascending aorta is >50mm, it can be diagnosed as ascending aortic aneurysm, which may lead to heart valve lesions such as aortic valve insufficiency, affecting the function of the heart and causing heart failure, or in severe cases, causing ascending aortic aneurysm rupture. When a patient is found to have an ascending aortic aneurysm with aortic insufficiency, aneurysm resection and aortic valve replacement are recommended for treatment.
