Spleen deficiency may present with low urine output.
In Chinese medicine, spleen deficiency mainly refers to spleen qi deficiency or spleen yang deficiency. Spleen-Yang deficiency is caused by the lack of vitality of the middle yang, internal stagnation of water-dampness (water-dampness stays in the body), and the loss of bladder qi, which can lead to dysuria (unsmooth urination), which can be manifested as urination; while Spleen-Qi deficiency does not have the symptom of dysuria.
Urine, as the excretion of fluid metabolism, reflects the surplus and deficit of fluid and the normalization of the qi and chemistry functions of the lungs, spleen and kidneys. If a patient presents with symptoms of scanty urine, two conditions are generally considered.
If there is little urine and short yellow, it is mostly due to solid heat syndrome or injury of fluid after sweating, vomiting or going down; if there is little urine with swelling, it may be due to the malfunction of the lungs, spleen and kidneys, unfavorable qi, and water-dampness stopping internally.
If you suspect that your urinary symptoms are caused by disease, you should go to the hospital in time.
