The reason for exposed blood vessels in the legs is because there is less fat under the skin, so the blood vessels are closer to the skin. It may also be due to lesions in the blood vessels of the legs, such as varicose veins, elevated venous pressure, and venous blood stagnation in the leg vessels, which occurs because of venous valve insufficiency and reflux of blood from the deep veins into the superficial veins. It can also be due to deep vein thrombosis, which leads to obstruction of blood reflux, and likewise vascular lesions, so that dilatation and tortuosity of the blood vessels can occur over time. The presence of varicose veins is indicated by the presence of blood vessels that can be seen traveling in clusters like earthworms in the legs, and the exposed blood vessels can be seen from the legs.
