What are the inflammatory diseases of the uterus

Inflammation of the uterus is one of the inflammatory diseases of the pelvic reproductive organs and is a common gynecological condition. Inflammatory diseases of the uterus are divided into endometritis and myometritis, which are mostly seen after abortion and childbirth. Childbirth or miscarriage can destroy the defensive function and self-purification of the female genital tract, increasing the chance of pathogens invading the genital tract. If the body resistance decreases due to maternal weakness, malnutrition, anemia, amniotic cavity infection, premature rupture of fetal membranes, combined chronic diseases, prolonged labor, obstetric surgical operations, and late pregnancy sex, it is more likely to cause infection. After delivery, pathogens in the female reproductive tract move up from the vagina and invade through the placental abscission surface, spreading to the metaplastic layer of the uterus called endometritis and invading the myometrium called myometritis, both of which are often accompanied. The manifestations are fever, increased malodorous discharge, lower abdominal pain and tenderness, and increased white blood cells. The treatment is supportive, such as strengthening nutrition, correcting water and electrolyte disorders, using broad-spectrum high-efficiency antibiotics, and removing residues in the uterine cavity if there are any. For uterine inflammation caused by abortion and delivery, prevention should be the main focus, pay attention to pregnancy hygiene, avoid sexual intercourse in late pregnancy, keep the vulva clean, enhance physical fitness, and timely treatment of vulvovaginitis and cervicitis.
