After surgery, the wound is in need of a dressing change. The common steps for dressing change include the following: 1. Preparation before the dressing change, take 2 sterile dressing change bowls, iodophor cotton balls, two drawer forceps, gauze or sterile dressing. 2. To inform the patient of the purpose of this dressing change, slowly uncover the dressing on the patient’s wound surface with your hand. 3. Holding sterile forceps or forceps in your right hand, slowly open the inner dressing and observe the wound for redness, swelling and hardness. 4.Gently hold a cotton ball with forceps in the left hand and alternate it to the right forceps to disinfect the patient’s wound. 5.Continue to disinfect the patient’s wound again by holding an iodophor cotton ball with the right forceps. 6.After disinfection, dry the wound with a dry cotton ball and cover it with a sterile dressing or gauze.
