Treatment of elevated leukocytes in urine test: First, if only found on physical examination without any urinary tract irritation symptoms, without any conscious symptoms, it is recommended to take morning urine again on the second day for retesting. If the retest still shows elevated white blood cells, the diagnosis of urinary tract infection can be confirmed, which is called asymptomatic bacteriuria. Generally, asymptomatic bacteriuria is common in the elderly and children, so treatment is not necessary and regular observation and rechecking is sufficient. Second, if the urine test leukocytes are elevated, accompanied by urinary frequency, urinary urgency, painful urination and other urinary tract irritation symptoms, then oral anti-infective drug treatment is recommended. If the patient’s temperature is normal, usually choose 1 tablet of ciprofloxacin 3 times a day or 1 capsule of levofloxacin 3 times a day, stop taking the drug after 3 days of continuous oral intake and retest urine routine. If the patient develops urinary tract irritation with mildly elevated body temperature, it is recommended to take ciprofloxacin 1 tablet 3 times daily or levofloxacin capsule 1 capsule 3 times daily orally for one week until the body temperature is normal and the urinary tract irritation disappears, and then review the urine routine to decide whether to stop the medication.
