What are the herbal formulas for gout management

Gout belongs to the category of “paralysis (joint pain caused by wind, cold, dampness and other evils)” in traditional Chinese medicine, and the related formulas include Xuanbao Tang, Duo Wu Zhansheng Tang, and Damp-Heat Paralysis Granules.
1. Xuanbao Tang: composed of Fangji, Coix Seed, forsythia and other drugs, has the effect of clearing dampness and heat and promoting the passage of meridians and collaterals, can be used to treat damp-heat paralysis, which is characterized by pain in the bones and joints, impotence and yellowish color, and short and red urination (urine is small in volume and dark yellow in color).
2. Duhuo Sheng Tang: It is composed of Duhuo, Sangsheng, and Eucommia, etc. It has the efficacy of dispelling wind-dampness and tonifying the liver and kidney, and can be used to treat paralysis caused by deficiency of the liver and kidney. See joint pain like a cane, local joint deformation, day light and night heavy, skin numbness, difficult to walk, tendon flexion and extension of unfavorable, dizziness and tinnitus.
3. Damp-Heat Paralysis Granules: It is composed of Cangzhu, Lonicera japonica, Dilong and other medicines, which has the efficacy of dispelling wind and removing dampness, clearing heat and subduing swelling. Symptoms include redness, swelling, heat and pain in muscles or joints, a feeling of heaviness, difficulty in walking, fever, thirst and lack of desire to drink. Caution should be exercised if the spleen and stomach are cold and the joints are cold and painful. It is contraindicated in pregnant women.
