How to relieve gout

Taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as diclofenac, colchicine or glucocorticosteroids such as prednisone can relieve the patient’s symptoms during an acute attack of gout. 1. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): NSAIDs such as diclofenac, loxoprofen, indomethacin, ibuprofen, etc. can inhibit cyclo-oxygenase to achieve analgesic and antipyretic effects, and the reasonable consumption of NSAIDs by patients with acute attacks of gout can alleviate the symptoms of swollen and painful joints. 2. Colchicine: Colchicine is the first choice and classic drug for acute attack of gout, which can play a rapid effect of joint swelling, pain and other symptoms, but patients need to regularly monitor the blood routine and liver and kidney function during the drug. 3. Glucocorticosteroids: Prednisone, dexamethasone and other glucocorticosteroids are not commonly used in the treatment of gout, and they are used in patients who are ineffective on colchicine and NSAIDs, or in patients who have contraindications to the use of the two medications, and are prone to relapse after stopping the medication.
