What to do about abdominal masses

If a mass is found in the abdomen, it should be examined promptly, and a common test is color ultrasound of the abdomen. Because masses can occur in the abdominal wall or in the abdominal cavity, ultrasound can be used to further identify them. Masses that occur in the abdominal wall are commonly benign tumors, such as lipomas, and can be surgically removed if necessary. Masses in the abdominal cavity are also called occupying lesions, which can be cysts or tumors of the intestine, and may require further examination in conjunction with abdominal CT, or colonoscopy or gastroscopy, if necessary. If the diagnosis of tumor is clear, further preoperative preparation is needed and surgery is scheduled. After surgery, it is necessary to pay attention to the prevention of infection, regular medication change, nutritional support and other symptomatic treatment, and regular review.
