Laryngitis in children usually heals in a few days

Laryngitis in children is a disease caused by a bacterial infection that usually resolves in 7-10 days. Laryngitis in children is a common infectious disease of the respiratory system, usually of acute onset. It is caused by acute inflammatory infection invading the mucous membrane of the throat, resulting in edema and congestion of the mucous membrane. Patients often present with pain, high fever, throat discomfort, hoarseness, barking cough, and in severe cases, respiratory distress and even death by asphyxia. Anti-inflammatory treatment with antibiotics and glucocorticoids is usually needed to relieve the laryngeal edema; the use of antiviral or antipyretic drugs, together with nebulized inhalation therapy, can promote the recovery of the disease as soon as possible. During the period of illness, avoid giving the child too stimulating and spicy food, drink more water, keep the room air smooth and moist, and try to avoid crying to prevent recurrent laryngitis attacks.
