When is the best time to have an abortion

Induced abortion refers to the termination of pregnancy by artificial means due to unintended pregnancy, illness, etc. It is a remedy for contraceptive failure and is mostly performed in the early stages of pregnancy. Abortion methods are divided into medication abortion and surgical abortion, and different methods are suitable for different gestational weeks of abortion. In addition, the time of pregnancy is not the only criterion to determine whether abortion can be performed. For pregnant women whose gestational age does not exceed 7 weeks, outpatient medical abortion is an option; if the gestational age exceeds 7 weeks, inpatient abortion or surgical abortion is necessary. The abortion must be voluntary and the pregnancy must be determined to be intrauterine. In addition, pregnant women who are afraid of surgical abortion or have a history of multiple abortions are eligible for medical abortion if assessed by the doctor. Surgical abortion is divided into negative pressure aspiration and curettage, with negative pressure aspiration being used for pregnancies <10 weeks and curettage for pregnancies between 10 and 14 weeks. However, abortion medications include mifepristone and misoprostol. Pregnant women with contraindications to the use of mifepristone or prostaglandin medications should not have a medication abortion. Pregnant women with instrumental pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, allergies, severe pregnancy vomiting, and those taking long-term anti-tuberculosis, anti-epileptic, anti-depressant, and anti-prostaglandin drugs are also not suitable for abortion by medication. Surgical abortion is forbidden for pregnant women with inflammation of the reproductive tract, acute stages of various diseases, and those who are in poor general condition and do not tolerate the procedure. Abortion is used as a remedy after the failure of contraception and is not a regular solution for women's troubles; moreover, multiple abortions are very harmful to women's bodies, and women who have no desire to get pregnant are advised to take good contraceptive measures.
