How long can you live with liver cancer ascites?

Hepatocellular carcinoma combined with ascites indicates severe disease and late stage. Without active treatment, the median survival of most patients in this category is about six months. At present, new immunotherapeutic drugs and targeted therapeutic drugs at home and abroad have significantly prolonged the survival period of this group of patients. Current information and data from abroad indicate that the longest median survival of advanced liver cancer can reach about 22 months after combined treatment with immunotherapy drugs. In China, it has been reported that the survival of patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma can also reach more than one year after using immunotherapy drugs. In conclusion, the survival of liver cancer patients with combined ascites varies greatly depending on the individual physical condition, liver function status, age, number of comorbidities, physical fitness score and treatment modality of the patients.
