Insulin pumps are a form of subcutaneous insulin infusion and are part of an intensive treatment regimen for insulin. The insulin pump buries a soft needle under the patient’s skin through a pump line to achieve continuous insulin infusion. On the one hand, insulin pump can continuously infuse basal insulin to control blood glucose in the basal state such as fasting, and on the other hand, it can control post-prandial blood glucose by giving large doses before meals, so insulin pump is the insulin treatment plan that can best simulate the physiological insulin secretion pattern and can achieve good blood glucose control. The following points need to be noted in the process of using insulin pump: 1. Insulin pump therapy is an intensive insulin therapy, and blood sugar must be reviewed regularly during the intensive therapy to avoid serious hypoglycemia. 2. Wearing insulin pump should avoid contact with strong magnetic fields, such as magnetic resonance chamber, to avoid affecting the normal work of pump motor and causing insulin pump to stop infusion or even causing destruction of the pump. 3. The insulin pump should set a high dose limit to avoid over-infusion of insulin and serious hypoglycemia.4. Replace the insulin pump line regularly, usually in about 1 week.5. Maintain local hygiene to avoid injection site infection.
