1. Kidney yin deficiency: refers to the loss of kidney yin, the loss of nourishment, resulting in internal disturbance of heat, symptoms include lumbar and knee pain, dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia, dreaminess, emaciation and so on. It is usually caused by prolonged illnesses that affect the kidneys, or warm and hot diseases that injure the yin in the later stages of the disease, or excessive use of warm and dry yin-robbing substances, or uncontrolled indoors, which depletes the yin of the kidneys.
