The treatment of snoring often requires sleep monitoring, and there are many methods of sleep monitoring available. The most standard monitoring method is polysomnography, which can be manned to monitor EEG, EYE, jaw EMG, snoring, nasal airflow, ECG during sleep, including very many parameters. Through chest and abdominal movements, etc., it is possible to determine whether there is a sleep apnea problem or not. There is also the option of unattended sleep apnea monitoring, or out-of-hospital portable sleep apnea monitoring, and even wearable devices are now being carried out, by monitoring the oxygenation of the finger, which in turn allows monitoring of sleep apnea. The clinical recommendation is now for manned sleep apnea monitoring, but if this is not available, home sleep apnea monitoring is an acceptable option. If only wearable oxygenation monitoring is performed, it can only be used for screening purposes, and when there is a problem, it is necessary to go to the hospital for human-attended testing or to use out-of-hospital sleep apnea monitoring.
