You can have an enhanced CT after taking a cephalosporin.
Cephalosporins are antibiotics that are generally used for infections associated with sensitive bacteria. Intravenous application of contrast agents such as iophorol, iodixanol, iohexol, etc. is generally required for enhanced CT, and these drugs do not interact with cephalosporins.
Common contraindications to enhanced CT: because the contrast agent needs to be metabolized mainly by the kidneys, patients with renal insufficiency should be cautious of doing the examination; taking glucose-lowering drug metformin needs to be discontinued for more than 72 hours, so as not to aggravate the burden on the kidneys to avoid renal impairment; in addition, patients with allergy to the contrast agent, hyperthyroidism and other diseases are forbidden to perform enhanced CT examination.
If you need to perform enhanced CT examination because of your condition, you must do it under the guidance of your doctor and drink more water after the examination.
