Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Rehmanniae

Angelica sinensis has the effects of tonifying blood and regulating menstruation, activating blood circulation and relieving pain, moistening the intestines and relaxing the bowels; Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong has the effects of activating blood circulation and promoting circulation of qi, dispelling wind and relieving pain; Paeonia lactiflora has the effects of nourishing blood and astringing yin, softening the liver and relieving pain (for treating pains arising from deficiency of liver yin and liver blood), and suppressing liver yang; and Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, or ripened diabetes mellitus, has the effects of nourishing blood and nourishing yin, benefiting the essence and filling the marrow.
1. Angelica sinensis is used for treating blood deficiency and atrophy, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, bruises, carbuncles (a kind of poisonous sores, acute suppurative diseases occurring on the surface of the body, limbs and internal organs), sores, intestinal dryness and constipation, etc. It is contraindicated in patients with feverish bleeding. It is also contraindicated in patients suffering from feverish bleeding, and should be taken with caution in patients suffering from dampness and fullness in the middle of the body (too much dampness leading to fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach) and those suffering from loose stools.
2. Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong is used in the treatment of thoracic and hypochondriac pain, swelling and pain in bruises, menstrual disorders, dysmenorrhea, headache, etc. It is not recommended for pregnant women. It is not recommended for pregnant women.
3. Paeonia lactiflora is used for treating deficiency of liver and blood, irregular menstruation, pain in the chest, hypochondrium and abdomen (stomach and abdomen), headache and dizziness. It is also contraindicated in cases of spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating with slight movement) and sweating due to Yang deficiency.
4. Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata is used for treating blood deficiency and yellowish color, irregular menstruation, bleeding due to excessive menstruation (excessive menstruation or more than a few drops of menstruation), deficiency of kidney yin, lumbar and knee soreness and weakness, night sweating (sweating abnormally after falling asleep, but sweating stops after waking up), spermatorrhea, dizziness and dizziness, and premature whitening of the beard and hair.
