In Chinese medicine theory, black and purple lips are usually caused by blood stasis, and should be treated with medicines that activate blood circulation and eliminate blood stasis under the guidance of doctors, such as Shaohuayi Yuyu Tang and Huanxiongxiong San.
1. Shaohuayouhuayu Tang has the effect of activating blood circulation, removing blood stasis, warming menstruation and relieving pain. It is mainly used for treating the symptoms of blood stasis such as pain in the abdomen with lumps, or pain without lumps, or pain without lumps, or distension in the abdomen, or lumbar soreness and distension in the abdomen at the time of menstrual bleeding. Note: The five removing blood stasis broths created by Wang Qingren all have the effect of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis.
2. Hovenia Rhizoma Ligustici is mainly used in the treatment of mild blood stasis resulting in left-sided dystocia (pain in the area of the ribs and coarseness of the abdomen). The symptoms include pain in the left side of the body, depression of the liver and blood stasis, sunken and astringent pulse, dull tongue, and ineffective use of qi regulating medicines, which is a mild evidence of blood stasis.
